Meet the Team
At P.S. Pup Struts, we take great measures to hire the most dedicated, kind, compassionate pet care professionals imaginable.

Let us introduce you ...

Zoe

Zoe (Owner, Manager, Puppy Care Specialist) has a background in animal health care as a Veterinary Assistant, as a Volunteer at Animal Wildlife Refuges and is an avid reader and researcher. She grew up in the theater world in her home town of Key West Florida and studied acting, dance and lighting design. She received a BA in Drama & Dance from Colorado College in 2000 (where she met Scott at a dance audition -- he was trying out for her dance piece!). They moved to Eugene Oregon and there she danced for the Dance Theatre of Oregon and worked as a Vet Assistant. Gaining experience and forming close relationships with the vet clients that came into the clinic, she was asked time and time again to care for pets when they were going out of town - and Voila! A Pet Sitting business was born! Since then she has lived in Europe, NYC, Alaska and back in Key West, where in 2003 she formed and produced works for The Brazen Hussies Dance Company. Always drawn to the arts and the welfare of animals equally, she has always found a way to support her love of both.... except now, she only dances with the dogs! After her world travel and her many years in theatre, she came to Philly to stay and realize her dream and dedicate her time and devotion to Philadelphia pets and their parents... with P.S. PET SIT!

Scott (Manager) helps with the boarding Department here at "Camp P.S. PUP STRUTS", caring for all the little (and not so little) buddies who stay in our home. Coming from a theater background, he is proficient at entertaining all who come to stay with us-- he takes our boarders hiking, swimming, walking, and he's a super cuddler too! He assisted in the development and success of their previous pet sitting business in Oregon, gaining years of experience working with many types of animals. He is great with all of them -- be them cats, chinchillas, birds or his favorite (shhhh! dont tell the others!) --- DOGS. He is the best walker around... strong, patient, loving and dedicated.

Kayleigh (Pet Care Specialist, a.k.a. "The Ringer") grew up on a small farm surrounded by all kinds of animals big and small- horses, sheep, chickens, dogs, cats, cows, goats, and so much more! She can't imagine not being around animals!

Kayleigh is a sophomore at Temple, where she plans to pursue veterinary science and follow in the footsteps of her twin aunts, who are both small animal vets. You could say she has pet care in her blood! She enjoys photography, cooking for hundreds of campers at a time, art, and playing rugby. Kayleigh loves taking her dog niece and nephew, Drew and Lily, who are PS Petsit clients, along with her other niece Tallulah, to the dog park and for rides around town. She looks forward to meeting your fuzzy or not so fuzzy family members!

Services: Fairmount / Art Museum / Brewerytown / Back Up Walker for all areas

Kim is from Portland, Maine and moved to Philly about a year ago. She graduated from USM with a BA in Psychology, and have plans to attend Grad school here. She has always loved animals of all kinds. She got her first dog at age 11 and knew she would never be without one in her life from that moment on. She recently adopted Higgins, a one year old chocolate lab. She loves to wake up and have coffee with Higgins at the beach, but now that she's a city girl, she'll settle for the puppy park!  She appreciates nature and anything outdoors. She and her pup spend time hiking, camping, swimming, and spending as much time at the Maine shore as possible!

In her free time she pursues photography of all kinds, although old school film is her favorite! She also volunteers at the PSPCA.

Amy grew up surrounded by many furry siblings from day one, and was proud to call her first "best friend" her first dog, Patches. Raised in North Jersey, second to that West Chester, PA, her love for animals was always evident. Her family motto was to always have two dogs so one of them would never get lonely. She personally couldn't get enough, raising rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, birds...anything small enough to fit in her room and call her own.

She graduated from University of the Arts in 2000 with a BFA in Dance. Living in Center City for almost 10 years, she loved the surroundings of the theater, music, and arts. She relocated to Northeast Phila. and began raising her son Jordan who will turn 7 in March of 2010. In between part time employment she landed a dog walking gig in Bucks County, PA. She immediately fell in love with the position, being as though she always knew she wanted to do something involving animals! Her motto is "Treat them as they were your own".

She now resides with her son Jordan and her two "large and in charge" almost identical kitty boys, Mathers and Phillippe (unfortunately not pictured). Sonny (pictured) is her American Dingo who lives home with her parents in Delware County. Sonny was rescued in December 08 and is one of the sweetest most affectionate boys there are. She sees a future vet in her son, who takes pride in playing Big Brother to all. Amy is overwhemled with excitement to join the PS Pupstruts team, and thinks there is no better job than caring and having fun with pets each and every day. It is the most rewarding job to walk in and be greeted in such a way, and cannot wait to be greeted by yours!

Our staff are trained by our unique and complete Advanced Training Program specifically designed for dog walkers and pet sitters. What do our sitters learn in our training program, you ask?

We provide seminars and classes specifically designed for our staff by local dog trainers and behavioral specialists, Ruth Cionca and Marisa Scully who address our staff's questions, highlight their abilities, strengths, weaknesses, and passions. They review general dog behavior, specific needs and histories of different breeds, training techniques, how to detect stress in an animal, how to create a relaxed and balanced environment for each dog, how to take precautions at the park and on walks to ensure absolute safety and fun, and in addition, we review individual cases experienced by the staff.

Each sitter completes Training in CPR and Pet First Aid through Pet Tech and The American Red Cross programs.

They study and train to pass the Accreditation program of Pet Sitters International, a thorough program that addresses all areas of pets, pet care, house sitting, liability, management, cleaning supplies, community involvement, pet first aid and client and customer relation skills.

We enable workshops to brainstorm and implement fundraising drives, campaigns and events to benefit local animal welfare organizations.

We research new and cutting edge eco-friendly pet products for staff to use and promote to our clients (for example www.poopbags,com - the TRULY decomposable and even compostible doggie poobags, which P.S. Pup Strutters use frequently, if they arent already using recycled bags).

Our sitters are trained in pet sitting, pet care and dog and pet behavior with a training program designed for each individual.

We are pet parents ourselves so we understand what you want out of a pet care service:

Our business model is set up so that you and your pets's safety, comfort and happiness is our First Priority.

* We dont send random and new sitters in to your home every week or month. We do our absolute best to give you consistent caregivers so that a long term, trusting and fun relationship can be built - and that takes time. After all, they are going into your home and taking care of the things YOU care about most. We take that to heart and structured our business as if we were in YOUR shoes.

* We dont wear or display our business name on our persons or car. We dont believe this is a safe way to advertise and our sitters are instructed to wear normal clothes, with their keys and P.S. Paraphenalia covered or tucked away. This is to keep you, your pets and your home SAFE. Our marketing strategy is to provide you with the most positive experience possible. Our goal is to keep YOU as a client -- not obtain more. We are committed to quality - not quantity - and our valued and loved clients benefit tremendously from that fact.

* Before services begin, you get to meet the owner or area manager as well as the sitter(s) assigned to taking suberb care of your pets. If we have to introduce you to a new sitter within the first 6 months, it is free of charge. That way, we as a company KNOW YOU. You arent a number in the system - you are YOU, with your unique preferences and needs. And we are here to provide you with what you and your pets deserve: Dependability, Devotion and Dedication to making you both happy and stress free.
